EKLA with ZAMPONE

Window art for GO! Kinderdagverblijf Eugeen Laermans
in collaboration with ZAmpone architects.

Here I created a series of window artworks that wrap around the building and connect with the daily life of the childcare. The work plays with transparency and imagination: children can see the legs and feet of people passing by, which sometimes transform into other playful creatures. Subtle, never literal, but always present.

Some windows needed reduced visibility, while others remained open. By adjusting the density of the foil, I could balance functionality where needed and keep things light and free elsewhere. In the play corridor, I added long, friendly figures that barely block the view but do help prevent people from walking into the glass.

The colours were chosen together with the architects, in dialogue with the building and the natural light.

The result reads almost like a story as you walk around the site, while each window also stands strongly on its own.
