Kollebloem

Mural for daycare De Kollebloem with a jointly chosen theme "fantastic jungle".
For De Kollebloem, I created a large outdoor mural that softens the building and brings a playful rhythm to the street. The project had a strong participatory aspect: the staff first shared their ideas about atmosphere and themes, and afterwards I worked with children from the neighbouring primary school. Together we designed roughly one third of the mural, and we painted that part as a group as well.
The result is one coherent image in my hand, but shaped by many voices.
The involvement of the community made this project especially meaningful.
in addition to my own work, the piece on the right was designed and performed by the children of Lutgardis Etterbeek, with my guidance.
